Factory Farms – Eggs
This is where your eggs originate!
Could you spend your entire life in a wire cage the size of your bathtub
with four other people? In this filth? In this darkness?

Oath of God Ministries
Oath of God Ministries condemns the egg production processes found in America’s factory farms as inhumane and cruel. The factory farm processes all embrace the use of battery cages, forced molding, debeaking, live grinding of male chicks fed back to the mother hens, smothering of baby chicks and daily neck breaking all of which has no foundation in God’s husbandry design for these birds. The hens suffer unmitigated misery in the egg production factory farms.
On a happier note, whether it is chic to have your own chicken coop or simply a necessity – we are definitely seeing many more affluent neighborhoods throughout America with their own backyard chicken coop. Whether this is done to receive a higher quality egg or to avoid the overall corruption of the hen laying factory farms these delightful family owned coops are springing up in the most unexpected neighborhoods.
“Barren battery cages are outlawed across the European Union. They have been condemned by the Pew Commission on Industrial Farm Animal Production, which included former Kansas governor John Carlin, former Secretary of Agriculture Dan Glickman (who also chaired the House Agriculture committee), as well as farmers and ranchers across America. They’re also condemned by every animal protection group in the world.”(1) When you purchase factory farm eggs you contribute to the inhumane and the corrupt processes visible in these videos. In turn you also receive an inferior product for consumption.

______Forced Moulting Imposed on Egg Laying Hens___________
“Forced molting is the practice of causing stress to egg-laying hens, usually through starvation, so that they will produce larger eggs later. This practice is common among large factory farms, where egg-laying hens live in battery cages that are so crowded, the birds cannot fully extend their wings. Withholding food from the birds for 5 to 21 days causes them to lose weight, lose their feathers, and stop egg production. While their egg production stops, the hens’ reproductive system is “rejuvenated,” and the hens will later lay larger eggs, which are more profitable.”(2)
Whether the undercover operation is in California or New England the factory farm processes are identical.

Do You Purchase These Eggs? (3)
– Female baby chicks are debeaked. It is a very painful process and affects their ability to eat food as adult hens.
– Baby chicks have their toes cut off at a very young age.
– The baby male chicks are thrown into large plastic bags where they are smothered to death.
– The baby male chicks are ground-up by machinery and fed back to the mother hens as food.
– 95 percent of laying hens spend their entire lives in tiny cages
– Each hen is given about 67-76 square inches of space (a sheet of paper measures 94 square inches).
– Conditions are so crowded the hens cannot reach water or food and therefore die of starvation or dehydration.
– Imagine spending your entire life in a wire cage the size of your bathtub with four other people.
– The hen’s bones deteriorate due to lack of movement.
– The hen’s feet become lacerated causing infection, pain and oftentimes a slow death without medical treatment.
– Many hens have their feet trapped on the metal cages where they die of starvation & dehydration.
– The hen’s skeletal systems become so weak that their spinal cords deteriorate. They become paralyzed.
– Hens will suffer new broken bones as they’re ripped from their cages when they are killed for meat.
– They never perch, forage, take a dust bath, nest, or explore their surroundings.
– Hens suffer or die from “cage fatigue” where living birds are forced to stand on the rotting, mummified carcasses of their dead cage-mates.
– Their lives are categorized by unmitigated mental suffering.
