Blunt their Minds

According to Karen Davis, Phd, United Poultry Concerns in her article titled, “Genetic Engineering and Cloning of Domestic Fowl” she states that Lesley J. Rogers, avian specialist, aims at “blunting” the minds of the animals so that they are no longer aware of the misery that mankind has imposed on them in today’s factory farm environments.  Blunting their minds actually translates to removing their minds altogether.  Davis quotes Lesley Rogers as saying, “so blunted that they will passively accept overcrowded housing conditions and having virtually nothing to do but eat—and then to eat standard and boring food delivered automatically” (p. 185).  Oath of God Ministries condemns this prospective research plan as being unfathomably self-serving with a complete disregard to God’s creation.

As discussed in the Egg section, most of the laying hens live out their painful lives in battery cages which is something God never intended.  In fact God designed chickens to be social flock creatures where they would normally walk the barnyard.  The factory farms objective is to get the mother hen to produce as many eggs as possible in the shortest period of time because the eggs translate to dollars for the owners.   The corporate owners don’t want the laying hens to take up too much space so most hens stand up in a tiny space most of their lives within the battery cages where many die from stress, starvation or dehydration.    Many hens die in the battery cages.
