Young puppy beagles are commonly used in acute toxicity studies requiring forced inhalation to test the safety of industrial chemicals.  Sometimes these puppies are force fed industrial chemicals whereby they die a slow and painful death.  Some of these raw materials may become chemical ingredients in household cleaning products.  Rabbits typically undergo the Draize-eye and skin-irritation/corrosion tests.  Many of these industrial chemicals will also be used as ingredients in cosmetics.

Most dogs and rabbits die agonizing deaths.  The rabbits die painful deaths while succumbing to blindness.  If the animals do survive these painful tests, they are later put down.  Sometimes their heads are decapitated for further study.  Product testing includes other animals as well.
