Then He said to them,

“The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few;

therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

Intercessors & Pro-life Christians: Abortion Clinics

You will always find more Catholics praying outside the abortion clinics than any other denomination.  It’s an embarrassing fact to all other denominations. The Catholics are gifted at sidewalk counseling too.  Even if there are just a few Catholic believers on any given weekday you will always find someone who is faithful to God and sensitive towards the plight of the unborn.  God continues to honor these faithful Catholics with miracles whereby babies are spared the death sentence and women a life of regret.

We would like to see other denominations join this ministry.  It’s very easy to pray inside the four walls of the church where it’s warm and comfortable but there’s little sacrifice for God to honor.  Oath of God Ministries is searching for other Protestant denominations to honor this mission field at least 1x/Saturday per month.

Abortion Clinics in Massachusetts

We are looking for a protestant Christian believer to coordinate car pools to Planned Parenthood’s facility in Boston.   The immediate surroundings of Boston, south shore & Cape Cod are where we would like to begin.  We hope to expand our prayer efforts to other abortion clinics in the future.  Eventually the car pool system will run itself because individuals will become familiar with the process.  Perhaps a church will donate a driver and van 1x/month for this mission field.  Excluding drive time coming/going you should expect 2-1/2 hours of prayer.  Believers are always welcome to expand their efforts to sidewalk counseling as well.  The only inclement weather preventing prayer at the Boston location will be snow.  We attend rain or shine because the demonic host doesn’t care about the weather when a baby is scheduled to die.

Can you imagine hundreds of Christians praying outside the abortion clinics on any given day.  We are in the Laodicean church age and we must stand for the unborn.  It’s everyone’s job to protect the unbornBack To Top

Regional Evangelism Conference

On a yearly basis regional churches should come together to jointly sponsor an evangelistic conference.  The Body of Christ is not evangelizing enough and we are seeing a moral decay in society because believers are not obeying Christ’s command regarding the Great Commission.  Don Sunshine Ministries has an excellent seminar program that inspires believers to evangelize.  We can only urge pastors to open their doors to this anointed evangelist to equip the saints to evangelize.  Evangelism is God’s perfect method in expanding the flock and building churches.

Christian Big Brother & Christian Big Sister Ministries

Although the pastor need not spearhead this program, the individual administering this initiative should meet with the pastor on a monthly basis to keep him apprised of the program’s direction and success.  Mature believers who are anointed to develop these programs should be confirmed by the church’s leadership following considerable prayer.  It is imperative to hear from God as to who should be appointed.  Eventually the program should be announced to the congregation to determine who else might wish to participate.

In a careful and methodical way, churches should begin implementing a Christian Big-Brother and Christian Big-Sister ministry.  This same program is typically found under the United Way but has since become very secular in nature.  If correctly run, this ministry will provide added structure to the church community and will be an enormous help to adolescents, pre-teens and even teenagers as well as single moms, dads and divorcees.  It is a rewarding program for all parties involved.

The Christian big brother/sister participating in this program should realize that this ministry requires an ongoing commitment.  Their dedication to the program will require at least one afternoon per week and for a minimum of one year.  Whenever possible a commitment beyond one year is always better.  Many children are wounded by divorce and might believe that the loss or departure of the parent is their fault.  This is why commitment on a long-term basis is critical for the big sister/brother.  Extravagant gifts should not be given the child as this can cause problems for the single parent.  Other guidelines which are not outlined in this article will need to be established as well.  Once installed it can prove to be a very successful ministry that adds stability to the church community.

The church should start with a single child and a committed big brother/sister.  The single parent should be involved in the early interviewing stages between the child and big brother/sister.  Everyone should be interviewed and the process should be carefully documented.  Corey checks should be issued on every big brother/sister as well as any adults administrating the program.  Follow-up interviews should be more frequent during the early stages of the program by the person spearheading the program.  Monitoring of the progress is ongoing but the meetings can lessen as time goes on.

A network of churches with a common witness in Christ Jesus can work together in this ministry.  If one church has a surplus of children but lacks mature Christian brothers/sisters – then the ministry can begin to match the adults with the children across a network of churches.  Many single mothers can be expected to sign-up their children in a heart beat!  This program has the potential to strengthen the Body of Christ making it of “one accord” in everyday practice.  It also has the advantage of strengthening relationships among church leaders within their respective communities.

Again, the pastor does not necessarily have to spearhead this ministry.  A mature committee leader can organize the program on behalf of his church.  Other volunteers will probably be necessary to help the committee leader administer the program.  The committee leader will be the contact person for other local churches participating in the same program.  Back To Top

Christian Grandmother & Grandfather Ministries

Depending on the needs of the family being helped, this program can compliment the Big Sister/Brother ministry.  In this program, actual grandmothers and grandfathers get involved in the child’s life.  This ministry should also include the direct involvement of the single mother.  Many single mothers are estranged from their own mothers.  Again, the grandmothers and grandfathers must realize that commitment is extremely important.  The grandparents should be willing to dedicate a minimum of one afternoon a week.  The minimum commitment is for at least one year although a longer commitment of time is always better.  Too often single parent children see people coming and going out of their lives where distrust towards others is built and where a deep sense of loss is felt.

Both grandparents should be in fairly good health to participate in this ongoing ministry.   The pastor does not necessarily have to spearhead this ministry either.  The committee leader overseeing this program can meet with the pastor at least once a month to deliver updates and testimonies.  The committee leader will be the contact person for other local churches participating in the same program.  Back To Top

School Mentoring

One of the most valuable public figures in any town is the Superintendent of schools.  Getting to know the teachers is equally important.  If the church leadership has not yet forged a quality relationship with the Superintendent, then this matter should be immediately addressed.  The needed tax dollars to fund mentoring is not always available and this added curriculum is very important.  A child can suffer immeasurably from a vicious cycle of low grades which results in low self-esteem and discouragement.

A collaboration of churches might consider establishing a non-profit organization which recruits among its own membership individual mentors who are skilled in the various subjects of Math, Art, English, and the various Sciences.  The school officials will determine where the mentoring takes place and Corey checks will be mandatory for all participating mentors.  Qualified teenagers, grandparents, parents and business people alike can all volunteer to mentor.  Back To Top

Church GED programs

GED mentoring can take place within the church during scheduled week nights.  This opportunity also allows the church to help GED participants in other areas of their lives.  Back To Top

Christian Homeless Shelters

Most towns cannot afford a homeless shelter for men.  The shelters that do exist are frequently filled to capacity and cannot take on additional men.  Some towns do not even have shelters for mothers and their children.  This is a very serious problem.  The Laodicean church in America wrongly believes that homeless shelters are the government’s responsibility.   There is coming a time in the future where the government will not have the answers and homelessness will be a very serious problem in most local communities.  Churches need to ponder the benefits of giving back to their communities in real terms.  Real estate can be purchased among regional churches to accommodate shelters for homeless men.  Members within the church networks can participate in ministering to the needs of the homeless.   Back To Top

Adopt a Homeless Person

Christians should consider adopting a displaced man or woman currently living in a homeless shelter.  It means a great deal to the homeless when someone takes the time to befriend them.  They may not have an extended family to help.  Not all homeless people have drug problems.  Many have simply fallen on difficult times.  Invite them to dinner as well as church.  It might be appropriate to invite your adopted friend to stay over the weekend as well.  Many simply need to be encouraged and to feel like someone actually cares about them.   Back To Top

Dream Centers

The first dream center originated in Los Angeles in 1994 by Tommy Barnett, Assemblies of God.  The L.A. dream center has become a quality model for other faith-based organizations to follow.  However, future dream centers need not be focused on a single denomination nor should churches wait for something devastating to happen in order to justify a dream center in their local community.  There is, however, coming a time in the near future where there will be a great deal of homelessness caused by economic hardship and unemployment.  Real estate values will decline during this period of hardship in our nation.  At that time, real estate will become very affordable and churches need to take advantage of these opportunities if not sooner.  Single men and women as well as entire families can be housed in church owned dwellings.  Displaced individuals can be employed by the Dream Center by working on properties owned by the respective church.  This work might include cleaning and painting church owned properties as well as various construction projects and yard maintenance.  An appointed church member can help displaced individuals find other types of work so long as the individual wants to work and isn’t involved with drugs or alcohol.  Members of the church can also hire resident workers of the Dream Center to work on their home properties as well.   Back To Top

Food Pantry Per Church

Each church, without excuse, should have its own food pantry.  This pantry should be available to provide temporary help to its own members as well as families who might come to the church for help.  Members of the church should be asked to donate canned or packaged food on a monthly basis. Back To Top

Human Trafficking

Given the increase in human trafficking, churches need to get more involved in helping victims, creating awareness within the church and cooperating with public officials who are strategically working to minimize trafficking.  Those who are anointed by God to work in this labor field should carefully study Abolition Now’s network of organizations which is probably one of the most comprehensive solutions in helping victims of human trafficking.  Back To Top

Homes for Unwed Mothers

Churches should come together to develop homes for unwed mothers in their respective counties.  Committees should be formed in each church and committee leaders should be chosen.  The different leaders can meet once a month to develop plans to acquire real estate or to address fund raising needs. Friends of the Unborn in Quincy, MA is an excellent model to emulate.   Back To Top

Regional Church Fundraisers for Crisis Pregnancy Clinics

Every church should be supporting its regional Christian Pregnancy Crisis CenterJust because the crisis center isn’t in your local town doesn’t mean you shouldn’t support it.  Many women living in your town will travel a distance to reach the nearest pregnancy crisis center.  Therefore the pregnancy crisis centers primarily service women from a regional standpoint.  If a pregnancy crisis center exists in your county – then you should support it.  There is no excuse.

When Christian sidewalk counselors stand outside the abortion clinics they will attempt to help the women before they enter the clinic to have their abortion.  Many women really don’t want to have the abortion but no one is there to help redirect them in meaningful ways.  Some pregnant mothers will allow the sidewalk counselors to assist them.  The abortion clinic’s appointment is cancelled and the mothers are rescheduled with a Christian pregnancy crisis clinic instead.  The Christian Pregnancy Crisis center can provide an ultrasound and various tests to determine whether the woman is pregnant.  An ultrasound will oftentimes deter a mother from seeking an abortion.  The abortion clinics frequently lie to the women telling them that an abortion is removing no more than a “blob” of flesh.  An ultrasound will show that a living and oftentimes well developed baby is thriving inside the mother’s womb.

Regional churches can sponsor golf tournaments to raise money for their regional Christian pregnancy center.  Walk-a-thons among the churches are also excellent ways to raise money.  Annual banquet dinners can be sponsored by the different churches.  Direct donations without any event can also be provided the clinics.  Back To Top

Post Abortion Healing Ministries

Mature Christian women who are sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s promptings can establish healing ministries for women who earlier opted for abortion.  Please read our article “Post-Abortive Behaviors in Christian Men and Women” to better understand the need for this type of ministry.  Many men also struggle with post-abortive behaviors as they too regret their decision and miss their lost fatherhood.  Therefore, mature men are also needed to help establish this type of healing ministry.  Quality ministries should be established within regions where women and men from different churches can attend to receive healing.  This ministry should also be open to non-believers seeking healing.  For believers who are anointed or called to this type of ministry, Save One will help both men and women begin a chapter despite the Christian denomination.  SaveOne also has excellent resource materials to help guide the facilitator(s) through the process of helping others in need.  SaveOne will also refer women and men in need of healing to your ministry.

Although this ministry requires a genuine sensitivity to the Holy Spirit the facilitators must also realize that strict confidentially on their part is a critical factor in the healing process of the attendees.  Back To Top

Regional Pro-Life Conferences

Regional churches should sponsor at least once a year a “Pro-life Conference”.  Believers need to understand the consequences of abortion.  Pastors need to stop coddling and start educating believers about abortion.  Abortion falls into the church’s responsibility.  The steady stream of innocent blood has brought judgment upon our nation during the lifetime of our own children.  Many believers have never seen an abortion photo or watched a video on abortion.  There comes a time when the rose-rimmed glasses and the white gloves must come off.  Many Christians view pro-life as a contemporary term rather than a genuine need to save another person’s life.  Seeing an actual abortion video has the capacity to bring every believer to his/her repentant knees.  Many will admit that they never imagined abortion to be so horrific.  Facing the reality of abortion in real terms allows God to bring a fire and passion to the heart of every believer to do more for the unborn who are destined to die in this manner.

In the pro-life conference, various speakers can discuss different topics such as – the life stages in the womb, how to properly and effectively broach the pro-life topic with a pro-choice individual, the various abortion methods used by clinics, abortion statistics, post abortion behaviors in men and women, the need to pray or provide sidewalk counseling outside abortion clinics and how to support regional pro-life pregnancy clinics and homes for unwed mothers.  Following the key note speaker the audience should be allowed to attend different classroom sessions to learn about a broad range of topics on abortion.  Back To Top

Nursing Home Ministry

Every church should be involved in a nursing home ministry.  Members should visit their local nursing home at least once a week.  A nursing home is a very lonely place to reside especially if the individual is a long-term resident.  Bringing children or pets (if allowed) is a big plus.  If permitted, some nursing home residents might like to attend church.  A special bus should be acquired to pick-up and drive the disabled (old or young) to church.  Back To Top

Christian Counseling Centers

Many believers have been delivered of serious stronghold behaviors while under the care of a professional state-licensed Christian Counselor.  One- on-one counseling can be very effective.  Pastors should already have a list of reliable state-licensed Christian counselors who specialize in specific areas of counseling.  Church leaders should be willing to refer members to those counselors should the need arise.  The counselor should have a statement of faith, attend church regularly and be highly recommended by his local pastor and church community.  He should also have a biblical viewpoint of marriage, divorce, homosexuality, abortion, pre-marital sex, disciplining children and the role of husband and wife.  Back To Top

Animal Welfare Christian Faith Based Ministries

If you have not yet read our articles on animal welfare – we seriously urge you to do so.  Many Christians indirectly contribute to the cruelty to animals without realizing it.  We are in the end-times where evil has waxed and we need to be well educated in the area of animal welfare to prevent the gross cruelties that have been imposed on animals over the past 50 years.  Education in this area is imperative for the Christian.  We are currently seeing the most oppressive conditions imposed on animals in the history of our nation and sadly many Christians have retained a blind eye to the problem.

Christians are also feeding their children various meat and poultry products that are banned in up to 160 nations worldwide at any given time due to harmful pharmaceutical residue.  HSUS (Humane Society of the United States) in particular does reach out to people of faith on animal welfare issues.  The MSPCA has Lobby Day once a year at the State House and this is probably true across the nation for all other states.  The MSPCA’s Advocacy Department also encourages its supporters to attend as well as to speak-up during Judiciary Hearing Committees on behalf of animals.

Many legislators are hearing about the oppressive conditions imposed on animals in today’s factory farms, entertainment businesses as well as animal research labs and the voice of advocates is making a difference for animals.  Back To Top

Legislative Ministries

Building Christian legislative ministries on a local basis has been sorely neglected by local church leaders.  The body of Christ has paid non-profit pro-family and pro-life organizations to fight cultural issues for them.  Although Oath of God Ministries is especially grateful to these non-profit ministries and believes that the church community should continue to support these organizations – it’s not always the best way to address local politics.  To some extent it has caused the local church to become very lazy in fighting these critical battlefronts.  Can you imagine the Pilgrims having hired a non-profit organization to prevent abortion or same-sex marriage from emerging in their local community?

The church in America has incorrectly approached this issue for decades.  We must return to local wall building.  In the past I experienced success facilitating meetings with local legislators (House and Senate) where the various denominations came together to meet with either their local House Representative or State Senator.  The meetings were private and well organized.  It’s important that a large number of Christians attend the meeting.  Christians don’t realize that numbers do count in the eyes of their legislators.

All attendees should be pro-life and support traditional marriage.  The hall can be rented.  If a hotel is chosen for the event, it will typically furnish the chairs and technical equipment upon request.  The press should not be invited.  Certain believers will be pre-assigned by the facilitator to present specific concerns or grievances to the legislator in an organized fashion.  The presenters should be constituents of the legislator’s district and should express a great deal of understanding about their assigned topic.  The facilitator can help with all the presentations in advance.  Members of well known organizations should not be invited unless they are genuine constituents.  The legislator should always feel comfortable that the meeting is being run by his own voting constituents.  Each presenter should sit at the table with the legislator when he/she is called to present.  A microphone should be placed at the table so that all other attendees can hear the conversation and follow the presentation.

The entire network of churches should be praying in advance for God’s grace to move in the meeting.  Prayer should also cover each presenter as well as the legislator.  A day or two following the meeting an assigned constituent should send a thank you note to the legislator.

On future legislative issues and as instructed by the legislative committee leaders in each church, all supporters can send letters, emails, or post cards as well as place phone calls to the legislator’s office whenever there is a need to speak against an unrighteous bill or to support a righteous bill.  Post cards containing scripture should be sent to legislators on a weekly basis by everyone participating in the legislative ministry.  Just about everyone should be signed-up to receive email updates so that this process remains well organized.  Back To Top

Speaking Before State Legislative Hearing Committees

Christians have sorely neglected going to their State House to speak-up against bad bills or to support righteous bills.  A believer can pull updates from their local state house website on pending state legislative bills, a comprehensive description of those bills and how the bills might affect their religious freedoms.  Believers should also speak at the Judiciary Committee Hearings so that legislators can hear their opinion.

Many of these legislative bills target the unborn as well as the freedoms of your own children.  It is your job as a Christian parent to go to the State House to speak up on any legislative bill that targets your child for harm.  It’s not someone else’s job to protect your child from an unrighteous bill.  We are to be restrainers of evil.  Once an unrighteous legislative bill becomes law – it is near impossible to get it overturned.  Your neglect brings harm to your own child from a legislative standpoint and it requires repentance.  Sadly, it is rare to hear any church leader’s voice during a Hearing Committee although a few good men do appear now and then and we appreciate them.  However, it is best to bring the entire flock as numbers do matter to the legislators.   It’s mostly the Catholics that speak up at the State House and even they appear in insufficient numbers.  Nevertheless Oath of God Ministries remains grateful to all the believers who speak-up at these committee meetings.  Back To Top

Learning about Christian Denominations

Many Christians have very little understanding of the different denominations.  It’s important to be informed especially when more church denominations are accepting same-sex marriage and a woman’s right to abort as a normal biblical precept.  Many churches are drifting away from supporting Israel as well.  Understanding the different denominations might provide an advantage if one is evangelizing or discussing scripture one/one.   A pastor can assign a different denomination to each church member who wishes to teach on the subject.  Each spokesperson should study the denomination assigned and subsequently edify the group on that same denomination.  Back To Top

Understanding Israel Since 1948

America will weaken as it continues under God’s judgment but Israel will strengthen out of need and Divine protection.  Separately, Christians rightly pray for Israel but many Christians don’t really understand Israel.  It is always best to pray with understanding no matter what the topic.  Scripture commands us to “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.  May they prosper who love you”.   We are blessed when we pray for Jerusalem whose very name means “peace”.   When we pray this scripture we are actually asking God to usher in the Millennial Kingdom.  In reality and according to scripture this peace will not be realized until the Millennial Kingdom where Christ Jesus will rule on the throne of David in Jerusalem which will ultimately be the international capital of the world.  It is in the Millennial Kingdom where the Jewish tribes will receive their allotment of land in Israel and no sooner.

Therefore Christians need to evangelize the Jewish people but very few ever consider this mission field.  Without receiving Christ Jesus as their personal Savior the Jewish people will perish into eternity.  Without Jesus they will never know His peace that passes all understanding today or the true peace of Jerusalem which will ultimately be established during the Millennial Kingdom.  The world can reject Christ Jesus but we must at least offer Him as a blessing through our evangelistic efforts.

Many Messianic Jews living in Israel are actually persecuted by other Jews.  They need our support and prayers.  They are adhering to the high calling in Christ by evangelizing other Jews but in the midst of harassment and persecution.  Do you pray for your Jewish brothers and sisters in Christ?  Many of our Arab Christian brothers and sisters living in Israel are also discriminated against as well as persecuted.

Praying for Israel can be an exciting journey for every believer but it is always best to pray with understanding.  As worldwide persecutions continue to increase many Jews will find their safety within Israel’s borders rather than their current resident nation.  Even recently Natanhahu urged all Jews to return to Israel for safety.  As more and more Jews return to Israel – what way can a Christian best support the Jewish nation?  What is the most effective way to bless the Jewish people in Israel?  By supporting those who are evangelizing the Jewish people in Israel.

Financially supporting a Messianic church or Messianic ministry in Israel can make a world of difference in reaching the Jewish people we otherwise hope to bless with Jesus.  Our Messianic sisters and brothers in Christ (who are Jews by blood lineage) also experience persecution within Israel for their beliefs in Christ Jesus.  Yet with more Jewish people returning to Israel what better way to reach them for Jesus than through these messianic congregations and ministries.   The Messianic Jews, although small in numbers comparatively speaking, are increasing.  Praise Jesus!  Supporting a messianic congregation, bible school or institute may be the best way to bless so many living in Israel.

Below is a list of messianic congregations, bible schools, institutes, and ministries.  We cannot endorse one over the other.  A believer should ask the Lord which one to support.  We also suggest that believers do their due diligence before sending any financial support.

List of Messianic Congregations, Bible Institutes, Ministries and Alliances:

Messianic Jewish Bible Institute
Messianic Jewish Alliance of America
Maoz-Israel
Christian Jewish Foundation Ministries (CJF)

Separately and from a biblical standpoint, even a new Christian should have some understanding of the different covenants: Adamic, Noahic, Abrahamic, Mosiac, Davidic, and New Covenant.  Christians should have a stronger understanding of the seven sacred annual feasts, how they are currently celebrated and what they symbolize from a New Covenant standpoint i.e. Pesach, Hag Hamatzot, Yom Habikkurim,  Shavuot, Rosh Hashana, Yom Kipur and Sukkoth.

If a believer is talking with a Jewish person about religion, culture or politics it is sometimes helpful to understand the following topics especially if it might open the door to evangelize:  Believers should already know how Israel took the Believers should know the difference between Orthodoxy, Reformed Judaism, Conservative Judaism, Reconstructionism, Jewish Renewalism, and Secular Humanistic Judaism as well as each groups doctrinal position on abortion and same-sex marriage.  Christians should understand why most Jews in America support the progressive Democrat platform despite the GOP’s stronger and more consistent support of Israel.  Christians should understand the differences between the various Zionist groups: Labor, Liberal, Revisionist, Religious, Christian, and why the Haredi Jewish communities oppose Zionism altogether.

Believers should know how the Knesset functions and have a basic understanding of its top five (out of 20) political party platforms.  Christians should know how and why 800,000 Palestinians were displaced and why the intifadahs took place.  Christians should realize that secular disagreements regarding the occupied territories do not necessarily mean that someone is anti-Semitic as many Israelis surprisingly still support a land for peace arrangement

Christians should have some understanding of Israel’s own internal battle on discriminatory attitudes towards fellow Jews of other backgrounds which include the Ethiopian Jews, Indian Jew, Mizrahi Jews, and Sephardi Jews all of which have resulted in cultural resentments.  Christians should pray for Israel as she has a high rate of abortion for a very small nation and is one of the many key destination points for both human trafficking in the sex trade as well as the organ removal trade.  Although homosexual marriage is outlawed in Israel, civil union couples are gradually adopting children.

So yes, Israel needs our prayers but we should pray with understanding.

Partnering:  Urban Church & Suburban Church

The generational curse of poverty for many Black Americans, especially those living in urban America, has been a direct result of segregation and still remains a very real problem in many inner city neighborhoods.  Oath of God Ministries does not agree with the modern day concept of “the redistribution of wealth” as this theory has its roots in socialism which is non-biblical and dangerous.  This same concept also promotes the sin of coveting what someone else either owns or has worked very hard to obtain.

We do believe that various suburban churches should build sound working relationships with inner city churches with the intent of helping one another.  The suburban church can adopt the inner city church and the inner city church can adopt the suburban church.  This brotherly help might come in the form of financial support for specific outreach ministries or it might come in the form of supplying laborers in a common mission field.  This is assuming that a common ground of biblical doctrine exists between both churches, relationships of trust are properly in place and mutual agreements exist on what type of outreach ministry might be supported.  Both churches will have double the manpower and extra finances to assist with one another’s out reach ministries.  Quarterly dinners can be scheduled where both church communities will have an opportunity to get to know one another.

Apostle Paul took up collections from the Gentile believers to help the Judean believers in Jerusalem who were seriously challenged by economic struggles caused by famine in the mid to late 40’s.  This effort is frequently known as the Jerusalem Collection.  This type of relationship and assistance may seem impractical but only because the church in America has been institutionalized and where pastors steeped in church tradition continue to build their individual fiefdoms with a complete disregard for the mission field only 20 minutes away from their own church.  Nevertheless, Oath of God Ministries believes that churches should bridge these gaps to eliminate poverty, crime and hopelessness in a manner that pleases God.  Believers like to use the term of “one accord” in speech but in theory it is not often put into action in a capacity of this type.

There should be less assistance from the secular government and more assistance from brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus. This can be accomplished when a relationship of trust is built overtime among church leaders.  Back To Top

Prison Ministries

This ministry should already be understood and installed in most churches.  Any church that is situated in the same county as a correctional institution should be ministering to its inmates.   There is no excuse.  The inmates are lonely, confused and sometimes ashamed.  They may not be receiving any family support.  They may feel that their future is a bleak one.  Clearly they need Jesus and your ministry can make a world of difference to them.  Wouldn’t it be wonderful if a revival broke out in your local correctional facility?   Back To Top

Providing the Holy Communion (Bread & Wine) to the Homebound

Many Christians are incapacitated and therefore unable to attend church.  The Catholic church allows women to provide the Eucharist to other Christian women who are unable to attend church.  Men are also involved in this ministry but it is open to women as well.  These ministering Christians will visit the home-bound or those living in nursing homes and elder-care facilities to administer the bread and wine.  In fact, in many Catholic churches women are permitted to provide the Eucharist during church service.  This type of ministry for women is rarely observed or allowed in Protestant churches.  If allowed, it is a beautiful ministry that provides not only “Communion” to the home-bound Christian but also an opportunity to fellowship.  Back To Top

Christian AA Community Programs

There is a strong need for Christian alternatives in helping those within the church that might be struggling with alcohol.  The secular AA program is not Christian based.  Church communities need to establish AA programs that are founded on Christ’s healing and deliverance to those struggling with addictions.  The Christian 12-Step program should also be open to those who are not believers but would like to attend.  This is a beautiful ministry which can impact the lives of both the believer as well as the non-believer because every aspect of deliverance glorifies only Christ Jesus.  The traditional 12-Step program is transformed into a Christian 12-Step program based on the power of  God’s Word.. One ministry that stands out in this area is Celebrate Recovery.  Also for individuals struggling with sexual addictions – Genesis Counseling with Joe Dallas is a rock solid program.  It is up to the believer to determine which program is best suited for his/her needs.  Back To Top
