I’ve met several atheists in my lifetime and I found them to be fairly likable people. They do, however, have a grave distaste for God and religion. They believe that a loving God would never allow so much misery and suffering on earth. Therefore, God cannot exist. Neither do atheists believe in heaven, hell or in miracles. The term atheism originated from the Greek word “atheos” which means without gods. The atheist’s belief system is based on the disbelief that any god or gods exist. Nor are atheists known corporately as a group which sacrifices time and money to restrain evil or to ease the plight of those in oppression. Clearly, the very evil they complain about is the same evil they should be restraining as God does hold mankind accountable for the sin of omission.
Yet, because the atheist’s thoughts, mindset, speech and actions are based on the belief that God doesn’t exist – they really do have a religion and it is properly classified as atheism. They worship the belief system of having no gods.
Yet for the born-again Christian believer, God’s final plan, which has not yet been concluded here on earth or in heaven, will ultimately be one of perfect harmony without suffering or misery. “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” (I Cor. 2:9) The key to this promise is the bodily resurrection of Christ Jesus. “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” (Rom 8:11) and Christ Jesus gives us ample assurance to this truth as well. Over 2,000 years ago He declared, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.” (Jhn 11:25)
Yet to the world which complains to the face of God with clenched fists, Christ Jesus said, “The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me, To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted To proclaim liberty to the captives, And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed;” (Luke 4:18) Christ Jesus is immediately available to help, direct and provide a healing solution to all our woes. Yet with all the promises of comfort that He still provides – why does the world continue to turn against Him. I will explain why in the following chapters.
Besides Atheists – What Do Others Think
There are other people in our culture, most of whom have no relationship with Christ Jesus, but who do favor the idea of heaven. They believe that death is their immediate ticket to heaven. They believe that God will use a meritorious sliding scale when He judges them and that they will squeeze into heaven like everyone else. They have convinced themselves that although they’ve done a few bad things in their lives they are still good enough to enter heaven.
With this incredibly arrogant attitude they have assured themselves that they will be admitted to heaven one way or another. Their theory is supported by yet another belief that since God is Love – He will unconditionally forgive everything they’ve done wrong without any change of heart or action on their part. In other words, they can just keep sinning here on earth and God will just keep forgiving while nothing on their part really needs to change. This is a very risky belief system for anyone and can lead to tragic losses here on earth and permanent separation from God in the hereafter. Back To Top
Brief Synopsis – Parable of Uninvited Guest
They presume that they will be spending eternity in heaven without gaining any assurance from God beforehand. Yet, if you were presumptuous about entering your next door neighbor’s home without permission and tried to take it over – your neighbor would call the police. You would be forcibly removed.
In a similar way, God’s forewarns presumptuous trespassers that heaven is His home and guests must be invited. They must also accept His invitation. Jesus tells this chilling parable to His disciples. In Matthew 22:2 Jesus tells his listeners that “The kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who arranged a marriage for his son, “and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding; and they were not willing to come.” Jesus states in Matthew 22:4-10 that the King told his servants to go out yet again and tell the invited ones that the wedding dinner is prepared and everything is ready. However those who were invited still showed no interest in attending. Some of the invitees treated the king’s men with wickedness and actually killed some of them. The king was furious and sent out his armies to destroy both the murderers and their cities. Once again the king told his servants to go out into the highways and byways to find people to fill his banquet hall. They did and the wedding hall was finally filled with guests.
“But when the King came in to see the guests, He saw a man there who did not have on a wedding garment. “So he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here without a wedding garment?’ And he was speechless. “Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ (Mat 22:12)
This entire parable speaks of our Heavenly Father as the Host of the wedding feast. He is also the King. The wedding is the marriage between Christ Jesus who is the Bridegroom and His church who is the Bride. The wedding feast takes place in heaven as mentioned in Revelations 19:9 while the tribulation period takes place on earth. “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’ ” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.”
During Jesus’ time, it was customary for the father of the groom to make all the arrangements for both the wedding and wedding feast. It was also a Jewish tradition for the host to provide each invited guest with a special garment to wear over his personal clothing. If a person was caught not wearing the special garment then he would be identified as an impostor or uninvited guest. In this parable, the wedding garment represents the righteousness of Christ. All true believers are given the righteousness of Christ at the time of Salvation because we have no righteousness of our own. Our righteousness itself is but a filthy rag before God. “But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags.” (Isa 64:6) Therefore, guests must be invited. Sin is not allowed into Heaven. Those who rejected the invitation are individuals who refused God’s grace to receive Christ Jesus as their Personal Savior.
The “friend” mentioned in this parable is not a true believer. He is an impostor. On a few occasions in scripture, Jesus uses the term “friend” but in an ironic sense. This guest preferred his own garment while the other guests desired only the righteous garments of Christ Jesus. If you don’t have the Righteousness of Christ as your garment when you cross the threshold called Death – you cannot attend the wedding feast in heaven. He takes away our sin and exchanges it with His righteousness. The uninvited guest, however, didn’t want anything to do with Christ Jesus or His Righteousness. Therefore, the uninvited guest was thrown into outer darkness which represents Hell. In Matthew 10:28 Jesus clearly warns his disciples that in hell there is torment for both a person’s mind and body. “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”
Since hell is the complete opposite of heaven there will be continual darkness. Those in hell will be permanently separated from God into eternity. There is no further mercy in hell for anyone. In hell there will also be the gnashing of teeth representing the outcast’s bitter anger. Today, Father God offers you salvation in Christ Jesus. Will you accept His invitation? Back To Top
What’s Stopping Me from Going to Heaven:
Let’s review the 10 Commandments. Have you ever broken any of them? Of course you have broken them! Therefore you’ve sinned against God and your unforgiven sin cannot enter heaven. If you’ve broken only one commandment – it’s one too many. “For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.” There’s no wiggle room on this one.
You only have to trespass once in sin and you become indebted to God Almighty. How can you repay Him for this trespass? You cannot work your way into heaven. What type of work would you do? How long would you work? You can give all your money away to the poor but it still won’t give you entrance to heaven. Once a sin has been committed – you can only enter heaven on God’s terms. Your terms will not matter to God. God’s terms, however, are easy to accept which we will momentarily review.
So let’s take a closer look at the Ten Commandments. The first commandment states, “You shall have no other gods before Me.” (Exo 20:3) Is your job more important than God? If you answer “yes”, this is considered idolatry. Does the football game come before bible study? Do you worship your career? “Jesus said to him, “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” This is the first and great commandment. “And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:37-39) Do you love God every molecular moment of your life and with all your heart? Do you love your neighbor as yourself? Some people don’t even love themselves. Many hate their neighbors. Therefore, people on a worldwide scale sin every day. “If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us. (1 John 1:10)
Do you prefer money over God? “No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” (Luk 16:13) Have you ever used the name of God in vain? Have you ever coveted what someone else owns? Have you always observed the Sabbath? Did you ever cheat on an exam or deliberately steal from the IRS? We can run down the entire list of commandments and you will probably be found guilty in the majority of them. So even if you never received a speeding ticket or always pay your bills on time and don’t smoke or drink – you are still a sinner and the penalty for sin is death. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Rom 6:23) So how can we be accepted and forgiven by a Holy God? Well, we can’t do this on our own.
Because of God’s love for the world, He has provided everyone with the same escape route to avoid His holy wrath. That escape route is Christ Jesus. In John 3:16, it is written, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” God loves the world but He hates sin. God deeply desires a family. He wants you to become part of His holy family. He wants you to abide in Him forever but your sin must be forgiven first. His complete forgiveness and love are available to everyone but only through Christ Jesus. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (Jhn 14:6) Jesus declared Himself to be the Christ. No other religious leader including Mohammed or Buddha ever made that statement. Nor does any other religion deal with the sin issue but Jesus clearly deals with it. God kept His requirements very simple so that the entire world could understand it. You simply need to admit you’re a sinner and accept Christ Jesus as your Personal Savior. Back To Top
In the New Testament there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews who approached Jesus by night. Before Nicodemus could say much, Jesus spoke to him saying “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (Jhn 3:3) Nicodemus was very confused by Jesus’ statement asking “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” (John 3:4) Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, you must be born again. The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” (Jhn 3:5-8)
We need to be born again because we are born spiritually dead which is why we sin. “But we are all like an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags;” (Isa 64:6) Just review the social injustice pages of this website and see how sinful the world is in God’s eyes. If you’ve kept a blind eye to a social injustice and did not defend those who cannot defend themselves when you were given the opportunity – this too is considered sin. “Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.” (Jas 4:17) It’s classified as a sin of omission. You need Christ Jesus as your Personal Savior to be forgiven this sin as well as all other sins.
To be born-again is to receive Christ Jesus as your personal Savior where you become a new creation in Christ. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” (2 Cor 5:17) When you become a new creation, your past sins are forgotten by God. You start from a clean slate. There is a newness to your life. You feel differently too because you’ve been given a fresh start.
To use a biblical analogy, God takes your past, present and future sins and plunks them into the depths of the sea where they are forever forgotten and completely forgiven. He removes them from His sight. “You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.” (Mic 7:19) He places a “no fishing” sign there as well so you won’t go fishing around for them ever again. You can rejoice knowing that God delights in His mercy towards you! At the moment of salvation, Christ’s righteousness is imputed to you. In other words, you have the same righteousness as Christ Jesus. This is the greatest miracle God can ever give you.
“For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (I Thes 5:9-10) Once you become a new creation in Christ, your Heavenly Father’s sole endeavor is to transform you into the image of Christ Jesus on a daily basis. Back To Top
A Real Relationship with Christ Jesus
Once again, you must be born-again in order to receive both God’s forgiveness of your sins, entrance to heaven and the indwelling Holy Spirit. If you have no personal relationship with Christ Jesus, then your sins are not forgiven.
Going to church every Sunday or singing in the choir doesn’t mean you’re going to heaven. Some people attend church because they are lonely. Others are simply religious but still have no relationship with Jesus. Donating to the poor doesn’t mean you’re going to heaven either. It’s simply means you did a righteous deed but from an unrighteous heart. Abstaining from alcohol doesn’t make you righteous in God’s eyes but it will keep you sober. Abstaining from cigarettes doesn’t make you a moral person, but it will keep you healthier. Never getting a speeding ticket doesn’t make you righteous; it just indicates you’re a safe driver. Just because your mother was a born-again Christian doesn’t mean you are one. It simply proves you were fortunate to have a godly mother but you can’t inherit her heavenly credentials. Having a great deal of money or an impressive title and a beautiful home doesn’t mean that God will make an exception for your entrance to heaven. It simply means you will die wealthy without any heavenly blessings. Back To Top
How, When or Where did Sin Originate?
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” (Rom 5:12) Who is this one man whereby sin entered into the world? God created the first man and called his name, “Adam” and placed him in a perfect environment called the Garden of Eden. In fact, in the Gospel of Matthew we read that Jesus’ blood line is traced all the way back to Adam. And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being. The last Adam (Christ Jesus) became a life-giving spirit.” (I Cor 15:45)
Adam continued to thrive in a sinless environment and was able to directly communicate with God without obstruction. His intellect was not marred by sin and therefore we can comfortably assume that Adam had a genius aptitude perhaps beyond anything we can comprehend today. Remember God created man because He deeply desired to have a family. God wanted sons and daughters with whom He could communicate with on a daily basis. Through His creation of man, He would be able to love while simultaneously desiring to be loved and honored in return.
From Adam, God created the first woman. She would eventually be named “Eve”. “Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.” (Gen 2:22) According to medical research, the rib has an amazing quality to regenerate itself and is replete with red marrow where the blood is manufactured. Merriam Webster Dictionary defines regeneration to mean “to grow again after being lost, damaged, etc.”
The marrow in most bones of a child produces blood. In an adult, however, marrow exists only in certain bones like that of the rib, spine and pelvis where it still continues to produce blood. So God chose the rib out of Adam which contains marrow but where the stem cells can still produce blood. In Leviticus 17:11 God declared, “For the life of the flesh is in the blood”.
So what is bone marrow? “The bone marrow is the soft sponge-like material in the center of bones. The bone marrow is where blood cells are made by stem cells. Stem cells are the immature cells that can develop into mature blood cells. Stem cells constantly divide and produce new cells. Some new cells remain as stem cells, and others go through a series of maturing stages (precursor or blast cells) before forming into mature blood cells. The blood cells made by stem cells are red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets”. (Patient.com.uk)
We can comfortably assume and to Adam’s benefit, his rib regenerated itself. According to Munro IR, Guyuron B (November 1981), “Split-Rib Cranioplasty“, Annals of Plastic Surgery 7 (5): 341–346 “human ribs can regenerate if the periosteaum, the membrane surrounding the rib; is left intact. A study where 12 patients had skull reconstruction using rib material all 12 patients experienced complete regeneration of the resected rib. In these 12 neurosurgical procedures the brain was also protected by the grafted rib.”
Eve was brought to Adam and he declared, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.” (Gen 2:23) Interestingly Jesus said, “But from the beginning of the creation, God ‘made them male and female. For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, ‘and the two shall become one flesh’ so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.” (Mar 10:6-9) This scripture also correlates with the spiritual mystery of the church whereby Christ is the Bridegroom and His church is the Bride. The two shall be one. (Eph 5:31-32, Jhn 17:21)
Allow me to depart momentarily to a sub-topic. “And the two shall become one flesh” is most interesting. Point in case, when the husband’s single sperm penetrates the wife’s ovum wall and its inner cell membrane, the sperm’s nucleus is drawn to the egg’s nucleus where the “two cells become one” whereby new life is created. This is the moment of conception where the stamped image of God is sealed on a new human being. God determined that the womb would be the place to nurture new life hidden from a noisy world. At the moment of conception a unique set of DNA is established which no other human has ever had or will historically or universally ever have again. The DNA code is a unique signature that no one else possesses. It is like a fingerprint which is forever assigned to only one person. Interestingly, the blood of the unborn baby never co-mingles with the mother. The unborn baby is manufacturing his/her own blood therefore its life is separate from the mother’s life. “For the life of the flesh is in the blood”. (Lev 17:11) The unborn baby only receives nourishment and oxygen from the mother’s blood into its own blood via the placenta. Since life is in the blood, God has used this very unique internal and biological process to nurture the unborn baby who has its own separate life and stamped image of God.
When human life is slaughtered in the womb through abortion, the blood of the innocent cries up to God for vengeance since life is in the blood. As God heard the blood of murdered Abel crying up to Him, so God hears the voice of innocent blood in the womb. “The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground.” (Gen 4:10) The baby’s mouth and the ability to speak are already embedded in the baby’s unique DNA. Certainly the Creator can hear the blood of His creation speak to Him.
Forgiveness of abortion is available only through Christ Jesus. By receiving Christ Jesus as your Personal Savior all of your sins are forgiven. You can give your heart to Him today by simply repeating the sinner’s prayer in this section. Back To Top
God requested only one act of obedience from Adam. It was a very simple request. God said to Adam, “but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” (Gen 2:7) God gave Adam a choice. Adam was given a free will. He wasn’t designed to be a robot. Additionally, the tree of knowledge of good and evil was not a typical tree. Fruit is never mentioned. To partake of anything that contains the knowledge of evil would prove very dangerous. No one has the capacity to deal with unrestrained evil on a daily basis even if it’s only informational which in itself can grossly disturb a person’s peace. Adam trespassed and did exactly what God asked him not to do. His wife, Eve, failed as well. They chose to defy God. They didn’t believe there would be consequences. Yet the catastrophic consequence of sin entering the world through one man’s defiance of God has lead to everyone being born into sin and having a corruptible nature. That same corruption is passed down from one generation to another. “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive”. (I Cor 15:22)
Because we are Adam’s offspring and our blood flows from his lineage, we have the same sin code or corruption in our DNA. Remember, life is in the blood. Within the blood it is the white blood cells which contain nuclei where is found the DNA. Mutations affecting our genes can alter the DNA sequence. “DNA, or deoxyribonucleic acid, is the hereditary material in humans and almost all other organisms. Nearly every cell in a person’s body has the same DNA.” (Genetics Home Reference, What is DNA?) We are born into sin and the wages of sin is death. The fruit of our sin also manifests itself in disease as well as war, premarital sex, human trafficking, animal cruelty, murder, pride, lying, slavery, stealing, cheating, bragging, abortion, conceit, sickness, sexual perversions, self-righteousness, cohabitation, murder, theft, jealousy, homosexuality, malice, rage, adultery, bearing false witness, revenge, lust, coveting and many other behavioral abnormalities diametrically opposed to God’s righteous blueprint for mankind.
This one sin caused both Adam and Eve to die spiritually. It was instantaneous. Over time Adam and Eve would physically die. Had Adam eaten of the Tree of Life, he would have physically lived forever although spiritually dead. Evil would have been allowed to multiple and perpetuate here on earth. Can you imagine Hitler living forever on earth? Evil would have proliferated at high speed. This is why God went to such great lengths to keep Adam away from the Tree of Life after he had sinned. “So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.” (Gen 3:24) Back To Top
After Adam and Eve sinned, God actually placed curses on Satan, the serpent, Adam, Eve, the earth and the animal kingdom. The first sin was actually committed earlier by Satan whereby he was cast out of heaven. Early in Genesis, we find Satan in the Garden with plans to corrupt God’s family. He succeeded. Although God abhors sin because it is diametrically opposed to His Holy character, He still loves His family. Although sin in itself is a curse, in His Mercy God provides a plan of salvation for mankind. That plan is called Christ Jesus.
Adam
“Cursed is the ground for your sake; In toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life.”
Eve
“I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; In pain you shall bring forth children; Your desire shall be for your husband, And he shall rule over you.”
Serpent
“You are cursed more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field;
On your belly you shall go, And you shall eat dust all the days of your life.”
Satan
“And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.”
Animal kingdom
“You are cursed more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field;”
Environment
“Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, And you shall eat the herb of the field. Cursed is the ground for your sake;”
How can anyone survive under the curse of God Almighty? Where is the joy when you live under a curse? Women do experience pain during child birth. They also suffer sorrow from infertility. Some view a woman’s sorrow as being deeper than a man’s and statistically women suffer from depression more often than men. Married couples experience conflicts and power struggles. Men toil and struggle with regard to their work effort in providing for their families. Snakes do crawl on their bellies and smell dust with their tongues. The animal kingdom suffers severe oppression under mankind’s sinful lusts and cruel demands. The environment is assaulted by mankind’s abuses and gross neglect. None of these circumstances are normal. Instead, they are a direct result of the curse. Back To Top
God’s Plan of Salvation
The Father, Son and Holy Ghost are One Godhead. Christ came to earth as the 2nd Person of the Trinity. He has always been with the Father and is One with the Father. He came as God’s Word in the flesh. His human name was Jesus. Christ Jesus was fully man and fully God. He lived a sinless life under the Mosaic Law which no human has ever fulfilled. He was born of a virgin. Because the Holy Spirit overshadowed the Virgin Mary whereby the seed of Righteousness was placed in her womb – there was no contamination of sin in His blood. His human lineage only is traced back to Adam where sin originated in mankind although Jesus Himself was sinless. Jesus was also called the Son of man and the 2nd Adam. He was called the 2nd Adam because He was responsible for recapturing the dominions lost by Adam.
Our Heavenly Father abhors sin and must therefore see it legally punished. So let’s use a court of law to illustrate just how our Heavenly Father determined to punish sin. Father God is the Holy Judge. Mankind is the sinful criminal. Man is on trial for his life. He is found guilty. He deserves to die. The punishment is eternal death and permanent separation from God. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Rom 6:23)
Over 2,000 years ago and on behalf of mankind, Christ Jesus offered Himself as our Substitute. He was willing to die for us. The Judge needed a perfect substitution. The acceptable substitute had to be sinless. Only God has those credentials and Christ Jesus being fully man and fully God was allowed to become our Substitute. Jesus stepped into this situation and took the punishment on our behalf.
Let’s look at this further. According to Mosaic Law, anyone who hangs on a tree is cursed. Since Christ Jesus lived a sinless life under the Mosiac Law – this requirement had to be fulfilled as well. “If a man has committed a sin deserving of death, and he is put to death, and you hang him on a tree, “his body shall not remain overnight on the tree, but you shall surely bury him that day, so that you do not defile the land which the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance; for he who is hanged is accursed of God.” (Deu 21:23) This is why Jesus’ body was not allowed to stay on the Cross. Jesus was hurriedly taken down from the Cross prior to sunset.
“Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”. (Gals 3:13) The Cross was carved from a tree. Capital punishment for criminals during Roman rule was death by crucifixion. Christ Jesus became a curse for us and was crucified.
While He hung on the Cross, all of your past, present and future sins were nailed to the Cross with Him. A human can barely handle his/her own sin never mind someone else’s sin. Every single sin ever committed on earth was nailed to the Cross with Christ Jesus. Even future sins which had not yet been committed were nailed to the Cross over 2,000 years ago. The Judge, wanting to see sin properly punished reeled His Holy wrath against Christ Jesus with everyone’s past, present and future sins nailed with Him. Father God wanted legal satisfaction whereby sin was punished. Clearly no one can endure the wrath of God but God Himself. We cannot fathom the utter curse of everyone’s sin hanging on Jesus as He remained nailed to the Cross. Simultaneously His human body endured the wrath of a Holy God, the weight of everyone’s sin, the agony of being flogged, the burden of carrying His own Cross and the excruciating pain felt from crucifixion.
Now you have an opportunity to receive Christ Jesus as your personal Savior. Scripture clearly states that receiving Christ Jesus as your personal Savior is very simple. “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Even the thief who hung on the Cross beside Jesus was promised a place in Paradise. He acknowledged God and had fear when he said to the other thief “But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong.” (Luke 23:40-41) Then he said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” (Luke 23:42) Jesus immediately assured him without further formality or ritual “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.” (Luke 23:43)
By speaking this simple prayer – you will become a new creation in Christ. You will be born-again. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.“ (2 Co 5:17) This is your opportunity to be forgiven of all your sins, to receive the eternal gift of heaven and to receive the indwelling Holy Spirit. This is the greatest miracle you will ever experience in life. Back To Top
Salvation Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, in Christ Jesus’ name, I come before you. I am a sinner. I repent of my sins against You and my fellow humans. I deeply regret the life that I have lived apart from You. I believe that Your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His holy blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins.
You said in Your Holy Scripture, Romans 10:9-10 that if I confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in my heart that God has raised Him from the dead, I will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Right now I confess Jesus as the Lord of my life. I accept Jesus Christ as my personal Savior. With my whole heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. According to His Word, right now I am saved.
Christ Jesus – I praise Your Holy Name. Thank you for Your mercy towards me. Dear Lord Jesus transform my life so that I may bring glory and honor to You alone and not to myself.
Thank you Jesus for dying for me and giving me eternal life. Amen. Back To Top
Now that you have been born-again – you might ask “What comes next?” Please ask your Heavenly Father, in Christ Jesus’ name to direct you to a biblically grounded church. Not all churches are the same. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide you to the correct church. Once you discover the best church, seek out a bible study class. It’s very important that you study the Word of God because it will be a lamppost to your feet. The Word will help to guide you through life and it’s difficulties.
Being born-again doesn’t mean that all of life’s challenges will be removed from you. You will still incur challenges but with the Word of God and the Holy Spirit’s guidance, you will address life’s challenges differently than before. “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (Jhn 16:33)
Next, you should ask to be water baptized. “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen. (Mat 28:18-20)
There are other types of baptism which carry different purposes for the believer but we are discussing only “water baptism” here which is a public declaration that you are a believer in Christ Jesus. The other baptisms will be discussed in a separate article. You are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. You are no longer dead in your sins.
